Women on the Move with Jennifer Green
If you had told Jennifer Green a mere three years ago that she would eventually host her own radio show, she would have been incredulous. A 12-year veteran of Jewish Family & Career Services in Atlanta, Green was happily immersed in her career as a part of Atlanta's non-profit establishment. Nonetheless, in 2006, she left her comfortable position in the social service world to pursue her other great passion: women's entrepreneurial pursuits.
A native of Long Island and graduate of New York City's Pace University, Green has quickly made her mark as a broadcaster. As host of Women on the Move, Green has interviewed a plethora of successful women--from Atlanta City Commissioner Lisa Borders, to world renowned radio talk host "Dr. Laura" Schlessinger. "No one else in Atlanta radio was doing what we're doing," says Green, whose twice-weekly program has fast become a favorite among women and men alike. "I saw a need, and I filled it."
And it's not just famous and high-powered women who are the subject of her show. "I want to help every woman that I can..every woman who has an idea and the motivation to make it work, despite the odds."
As a married mother of teenagers, Green, like so many other career women, struggles to find a balance between work and family. "It's never easy," she says. "That's why my day starts at 5:30."
Women on the Move airs Saturdays and Sundays from 1PM-2PM on NewsTalk 1160.
